Petaluma
It's realy weird to be back in California after all these years. It's been around fifteen since I left, and I've been sticking fairly close to the coast to stay away from all the dusty places I used to haunt. I don't think we'll cut too far inland until we get to Ojai, the place where I grew up.
Krista keeps wanting to stay in the same place for a couple of days, and I just keep wanting to move on. We stayed in Eureka, Petaluma, and now Half Moon Bay. It's on to Monterey today, and I might just stay there for a while before moving further south. Unless I get restless.

Seattle
I don't know why there is a rule that conference hotels must have terrible internet service. I could not upload a thing for the duration of my stay in Seattle at the Westin (a nice hotel otherwise).
Montana
Krista was somewhat surprised to find that the Rocky Mountains are indeed composed of rocks. I wasn't expecting to find a "happy ending" just before we stopped.
Albany, MN
On the road again. 1500 miles this weekend traveling south and then back up, sleeping in the Badlands tonight.
Trippy
I'm not sure we'll be able to have our usual big Midwestern trip this year. Last week, we were in the supermarket and spotted what was (to me at least) a hilarious typo on the cover of a magazine. What seems even funnier to me is that the cashier just didn’t seem to understand why I thought the use of the term “baking” as a trippy activity was funny. See Dave Chapell, I guess, for those who don’t quite get the joke.
